The Originating Summons dated 30th July 2024 prays for the following orders: (a) That the Applicants JMK and LNN be authorised to adopt the said GP a.k.a WG. (b) The Registrar General pursuant to Section 200 of the Children’s Act 2022 does make an appropriate entry in the Adopted Children’s Register of the minor GP a.k.a WG. (c) That the minor WG be henceforth known as GP. (d) That the child’s date of birth be confirmed as 9th September 2016. (e) That the court be pleased to find that the consent of the biological mother cannot be obtained for the sole reason that she abandoned the minor at the hospital. (f) That JKW and MW be appointed to be the legal guardians of the child GP in the event of death or incapacity of the Applicants before she is of full age and fully self-reliant. 2. The application is based on the afidavits on record sworn and filed by the Applicants as well as the statements thereof. 3. 4. The parties in this matter all appeared online in court on 4th December 2025 including the minor as well as the oficers from the Children’s Department. 5. I had chance to interview them albeit online and they all appreciated their respective roles. 6. I am also satisfied with the report from the Children’s Department and the paper trail in support of the application. 7. In the premises the Originating summons herein dated 30th July 2024 is allowed as prayed. 8. JKW is hereby discharged as guardian ad litem 9. Costs shall be in the cause.
